The Humanimal Trust was established to support the incredible work of "One Medicine" - a concept which strives to create a strong relationship between human and animal based medical practice. This would mean less cruel animal testing and create a world where medical study and practice will be of benefit for all.

Animals give their lives to promote our own and get nothing back in return. Let's change this.
One problem. One solution. One medicine.

The Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of New Jersey (SSPSNJ) is a branch off the National Sheltie rescue network - a large group of people dedicated to the love, protection and understanding of one of the best breeds in the world. I first came in contact with this amazing organisation after purchasing my collection of the "Sashi" books - a beautifully written set of stories by Linda Greiner who works as a foster for the charity. The dogs are not just given a roof over their heads - they are groomed, trained and given medical treatment upon their arrival. This is often very expensive and time consuming work, so every penny which is donated is very much appreciated, These wonderful people carry out life saving rehabilitation and its so touching to see how loved our native breed is around the world.

I would of course recommend purchasing the books. They follow the story of Sashi, a poor sheltie who was abandoned through no fault of her own. They're wonderfully illustrated by the talented Morgan Spicer (Bark Point Studio) and I feel teach an important lesson about the responsibility of owning this dynamic and energetic breed.
